Patrick Davidson

Career Detail:

Patrick Davidson is producing The World We Want, a feature length documentary film telling the remarkable stories of young student activists, ages 11-16, throughout the world. Filmed on location in Indonesia, India, Jordan, Russia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Senegal, Colombia and the United States, The World We Want captures the extraordinary experiences of empowered teenagers around the world. The film will be completed in 2007 and available for distribution in 2008.

Recent productions include Volunteers Across America, a primetime television special for ABC honoring inspiring volunteers throughout the United States; Nazi Prophecies, a History Channel Special exposing the tales and legends that foreshadowed the rise of Hitler and the Third Reich; and Representative Democracy in America, a six part education series for high school students funded by the United States Congress through the US Department of Education.

During his career Davidson created and produced The Walt Disney Company Presents The American Teacher Awards (14 years), a prime time gala honoring outstanding teachers. Davidson wrote and executive produced Jules Sylvester's Wild Adventures — a ten-hour wildlife adventure series for the Travel Channel shot on location in Mexico, Costa Rica, Morocco, Kenya and South Africa. In addition Davidson wrote and produced the award winning Disney's Sing Me A Story With Belle — an engaging, educational and entertaining pre-school series that combined live action, animation, puppetry and original music. The series premiered in first-run syndication and encored daily on the Disney Channel.

Previously, as Senior Vice President for The Disney Channel, Davidson directed the design and production of original series and specials, as well as the on-air look of the network. As the guiding creative force behind the acclaimed American Teacher Awards, the revitalized Mickey Mouse Club, the award winning Going Home music specials, and more than 50 other defining specials and series for The Disney Channel, Davidson is known for high quality, award-winning programming.

Davidson began his career producing on-air promotion and marketing materials for ABC, Universal, Paramount and other networks and studios. In addition, Davidson has participated in the design, launch and re-launch of various cable networks. In particular, Davidson directed the redesign of The Disney Channel's complete graphic on-air look in 1986. The resulting Mickey Hands signature campaign helped define the network as being more than just kids, won subscriber affection, as well as art director awards in New York and Los Angeles.
